Cow Appreciation Day

I like cows. I like milk. I know some people say you shouldn’t give us doggies milk but those same people give us doggies cheese and cheese comes from milk and dog-oh-dog I like cheese. So I, Carly, say throw down the paw-gauntlet and demand your human give you some milk or cheese on Cow Appreciation DayFriday, July 10th (I’d say steak, but that’s just so-not-cool on a day to appreciate cows and I have to admit it makes me do a little dog shudder to think this is being written on “National Hamburger Day”! – no accounting for the different ways one can appreciate cows, eh??).

If you prefer to not eat a cow or any parts thereof, you could get this little cow outfit to at least show your appreciation for those hard working milk cows…or you could maybe just show up at some diary and kiss a cow – they won’t appreciate you as much as you do them but you’ll feel good about yourself for giving them an acknowledgment. (Just watch your step when down on the farm, as that ‘cow pie’ story isn’t a myth!)
Whether you’re living life high on the hog in the city or down on the farm everything’s cuter with a miniature cow bell dangling from it. (Never send to know for whom the bells tolls…it tolls for you and your pup!)

Oh Bark! I happen to know this fabric is limited so order yours soon or you’ll miss out and that ain’t no BULL!
---> NOTE: Harlow & Grace’s website is being updated so you can order these darling cow print items via their Facebook page at:  www.facebook.com/harlowandgrace

About the Outfits:

DRESS: Black & white cow print fabric on bodice and upper skirt. Underskirt is a red & white checked coordinating with the bow. A miniature cow bow dangles from the bow’s center.  Fully lined. Industrial strength Velcro closures at neck and chest as well as a D-ring leash attachment for safe and secure strolling through the cow pasture or any city sidewalk.

VEST (unisex): Fully lined black & white cow print fabric. Trimmed with red rick rack and a red and white checked bowtie embellished with a miniature cow bell. Industrial strength Velcro closures at neck and chest as well as a D-ring leash attachment for safe and secure strolling through the cow pasture or any city sidewalk.

RUFFLED VEST:  An added mini fabric ruffle trimmed with red rick rack adds a more feminine look to the casual harness vest and with the shorter skirt you won't be dragging anything through questionable cow stuff when down on the farm.

HAIR ACCESSORIES:  Coordinating bows of either black and white cow print or red and white checked fabric with a dangling miniature cow bell completes the look. Or choose a mini straw hat fascinator decked out with miniature red and white gingham bows, red rick rack, and trailing red satin ribbon…perfect for the pup or it’s fun loving, fascinator-wearing human!

And if your human is just moo-ing away at wanting a matching outfit just tell her to google "cow print clothes" --- wow, I didn't know cow print was so popular. Pacifiers in cow print for those furless creatures (AKA: the human toddler!!!), nighties, shoes,  rain boots, pants, shirts for mom. For those that truly appreciation cows there's even a car skin (for those trips around the field when waiting for the cow dog, no doubt!)

Here's another way to show your appreciation for cows: how about this cute "cow pie" ... and not one of those nasty ones you find in the field.  This one you can hang on your wall or use it as a table top center piece.

In the town I live in there is a cute little diner called, Mary Lou’s Milk Bottle. The front of it is shaped like a milk bottle (it used to be creamery). It also was a location shot for Bennie & Joon and a few other movies. I’ve gone there for lunch frequently with my human mom as this was located just a few stores down from her pet boutique (www.DivaDogPetBoutique.com).

I, Carly always enjoy a good read (see my book reviews!) and Cow Appreciation Day you'll find me settled next to the fireplace with this little book: (okay so it's not exactly a literary Pulitzer finalist but I'm a dog and sometimes I just like to look at the pictures)

Want to know where Cow Appreciation Day originated at? Me, too. Though all my research I, Carly haven’t been able to find out. But cows are, no doubt, are an integral part of our lives and setting a day aside to appreciate all they have given to us seems like a small act of kindness.

Go Cows!  If you know where Cow Appreciation Day originated at let us know!

And don't forget to thank a farmer for all they with cows!
